Senator Sitara Ayaz belongs to district Swabi, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Province of Pakistan and is a Member of Awami National Party (ANP). She was elected as Member of Provincial Assembly and served as Provincial Minister for Social Welfare and Women Empowernment from 2008- 2013. She also worked as Consultant (Development Sector) and Head of APWA (Khyber
Pakhtunkhwa) from 2003-2008.

Senator Sitara Ayaz was elected as Member Senate of Pakistan from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Province from 2015 to 2021. She is the Chairperson of the Senate Standing committee on Climate Change and member of the Senate Standing Committees on 1.Foreign Affairs, 2. Maritime Affairs, 3. Law and Justice, 4. Industries and Production, 5. Parliamentary Committee on National Security, 6. China – Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) and Convener of Pakistan – Brazil Parliamentary Friendship Group.
