Dr. Isabel Pereira Rodrigues

Isabel Pereira Rodrigues is a lecturer at the Business Administration Division of the Mahidol University International College (MUIC) of Mahidol University in Thailand, where she has been serving since January 2014. Currently she is also the Program Director of the Business Economics Major of the Bachelor in Business Administration, and in the academic year 2015/16 she was the Program Director of the Master of Business Administration.

Isabel has worked in academia, as a lecturer and researcher, for more than 14 years and with high-ranked universities in different parts of the world – Portugal, Spain and Thailand. Her research interests focus on industrial organization and market strategy, contracts and incentives, economics of science and innovation, and entrepreneurship and sustainable development. Isabel is also a research fellow at the Center for Advanced Studies in Management and Economics of the Universidade de Évora, in Portugal.

Prior to being a lecturer at MUIC, Isabel worked for the United Nations system. In 2013, she was a Statistician with the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific. Between 2007 and 2010, Isabel was a Policy Specialist with the Human Development Report Office of the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), contributing to the research and writing of the global Human Development Reports on climate change (2007/08), on migration (2009), and the 20th anniversary edition (2010).

Isabel holds a PhD in Economics from the Universitat Autónoma de Barcelona (IDEA programme), and two Masters in Economics, from the Universitat Autónoma de Barcelona, in Spain, and from the Universidade Nova de Lisboa, in Portugal.
